Today sees the launch of John Barrowman's new album, Tonight's The Night - The Very Best Of John Barrowman. The album features fourteen of his favourite tracks from previous albums, plus two new songs especially recorded for the album, Tonight's The Night and I Owe It All To You.

The entertainer is currently engaged in a number of promotional spots for the album, plus his upcoming tour, BBC1's Tonight's The Night, and of course the current international series Torchwood.

Several radio interviews were recorded last Thursday for local stations around the country, which are being broadcast in various slots over the next few weeks, with more being recorded today. This week also sees a number of television appearances on magazine programmes such as Daybreak (ITV1 today), The Wright Stuff (Channel 5 Thursday), The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV1 Wednesday), and a 'regular' appearance on Loose Women (ITV1 Wednesday). He will also be promoting the album on shopping channel QVC tonight from 7:00pm.

Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker, has been elected honorary president of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society.

The Society, DWAS, is the longest running Doctor Who fan club in the world, founded in May 1976. The election of President was conducted through a survey of members and announced at the Day of the Daleks event at Riverside Studios on Sunday.

The role has previously been held by third Doctor Jon Pertwee and by Nicholas Courtney, who held the role from 1997 until his death earlier this year.

Baker said on twitter he was greatly honoured and touched at the appointment.

The BBC have released the first part of an introduction to next week's episode of Doctor Who, The Girl Who Waited, featuring Karen Gillan and writer Tom MacRae discussing how the story develops her character Amy:

The Girl Who Waited will premiere on BBC1/BBC1HD at 7:00pm, 10th September in the United Kingdom; it then follows on SPACE in Canada at 8:00pm ET, on BBC America in the United States at 9:00pm ET, and on ABC1 in Australia at 7:30pm on the 17th September.

Let's Kill Hitler has debuted in Australia to excellent ratings. TV Tonight reports that the episode averaged 792,000 viewers in the five major capital cities. It won its timeslot, was the top rating drama and was the fourth highest rating programme for the day overall (after the major news bulletins). The corresponding Confidential Cutdown also rated a respectable 553,000 viewers in the five major capitals. These overnight figures, however, do not include regional, rural and time-shifted viewers and hence significantly understate the actual national ratings.

Let's Kill Hitler had a final consolidated rating of 8.1 million viewers.

The programme had a share of 33.3% of the total TV audience and was the most watched programme of the day on BBC One. The nearest programme on the channel was Casualty which had a final rating of 5.19 million.

Consolidated figures include those who record and watch the programme within seven days. The final rating is much more accurate than the initial overnight figure and is based on the actual broadcast time of the programme rather than its scheduled time.

The figues do not include those watching on iPlayer, where Let's Kill Hitler has already been accessed over 1 million times.

The final figure for Let's Hill Hitler is the second highest of the series so far, The Impossible Astronaut had 8.86 million watching. It is the highest ever rating for the eighth episode in a series since the show returned in 2005.

A chart position will be released later this week when final figures from the whole week are available.

5.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Night Terrors, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The eighth in the current series has a share of 25.9% of the total TV audience as it faced its toughest opposition for some time. On ITV1, Red and Black, the new game show with Ant and Dec had an average of 6.6 million watching.

Doctor Who was the most watched programme of the day on BBC One and fourth overall for the day. ITV1 took the first three places with The X Factor on top with 11.1 million, followed by the two editions of Red and Black.

Doctor Who's audience was steady throughout the episode, with a peak of 5.6 million viewers and nearly 2.7 million leaving BBC One as the show finished, boosting Red and Black in its final half hour.

Doctor Who currently stands at 21st for the week.

Final figures, which will be released in 8 days time, should see the final total rise considerably, when those who record the episode and watch it later are factored in. Doctor Who is likely to have a much higher percentage of people watching on a delay and could overtake Red and Black on the final ratings.

On BBC Three Doctor Who Confidential had an overnight rating of 0.44 million.

BBC Worldwide have revealed that the classic Doctor Who stories, Invasion of the Dinosaurs and The Android Invasion will both be released in North America on January 10th 2012.

No UK release date has yet been announced, but it is likely the UK release will be early January.
