Radio Times - Time Heist Poster

Saturday, 20 September 2014 - Reported by Marcus
Radio Times' gallery of free downloadable retro posters for the current series of Doctor Who continues to grow with the creation by designer Stuart Manning for Time Heist which airs tonight.

Manning said:
Slinky Miss Delphox was the starting point for this one. Keeley Hawes' publicity pic had such a great silhouette that I immediately wanted to include it. I did a poster for Mad Men a couple of years back, using a similar treatment on Joan, and the idea stuck in my head.

The other influence was the heist movie inspiration of the episode itself, which got me thinking about things like Ocean's 11 and the Rat Pack. In my head, this a sorta special Saul Bass-style title sequence for the episode, playing alongside a Henry Mancini sax-and-harpsichord arrangement of the Doctor Who theme.
Time Heist will be broadcast at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Germany: FOX confirm time for The Caretaker

Friday, 19 September 2014 - Reported by Chuck Foster and Pascal Salzmann
With an 8:30pm timeslot for the new Doctor's sixth adventure The Caretaker announced by the BBC earlier this week, German broadcaster FOX have now confirmed that they will amend their schedule to accomodate the later time. The channel has to date aired the series at 9:00pm European time, a little later than the BBC One broadcast, but from the 27th September German viewers will be able to enjoy the episode simulataneously with those in the United Kingdom.

FOX told us:

It is indeed the case that the BBC in the UK is going to test a new airtime for "Doctor Who" on 27th September. All broadcasting countries have to change their schedules, of course, to not broadcast the episode before the world premiere. Episode 6 will be shown at 27th September, 9.30pm, at the same time as in the UK.

The series is currently broadcast in English on Saturday evenings, preceeded by the previous episode with subtitles; the entire series is due to be repeated with a German soundtrack from the 15th November.

The Caretaker time confirmed for 8:30pm

Wednesday, 17 September 2014 - Reported by Chuck Foster
Listen (Credit: BBC, Ray Burmistan)With the return of Strictly Come Dancing to Saturday evenings from the 27th September, the BBC have confirmed that the sixth episode in the current run of Doctor Who, The Caretaker, will air from 8:30pm in the evening. On the other main UK channels the episode is scheduled against ITV's The X Factor (which airs from 8:00pm to 9:20pm), The Ryder Cup on BBC2, Grand Designs on Channel 4, and World War II in Colour on Channel Five.

This is only the second occurrence in the history of the show that a new episode has ever been scheduled so late in the evening, with only the singular outing for Paul McGann in the TV Movie being broadcast at the same time in 1996.

The later time-slot does not impact the North American broadcasts on BBC America and SPACE, and the early morning Australian simulcast on ABC will be adjusted accordingly - however, FOX in Germany currently have the episode scheduled for 9:00pm (8:00pm UK time) - it is expected that this will be revised shortly.

The terrifying Skovox Blitzer is ready to destroy all humanity - but worse, and any second now, Danny Pink and the Doctor are going to meet.

When terrifying events threaten Coal Hill school, the Doctor decides to go undercover.
