Princess Anne Unveils 13th Doctor Costume RangeBookmark and Share

Monday, 2 March 2020 - Reported by Marcus
Princess Royal at Corgi (Credit: Carmarthenshire County Council)Luxury brand Corgi and BBC Studios have today launched the range of Doctor Who knitwear worn by Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor.

Corgi’s Doctor Who range will include 100% cashmere socks, wool socks, a cashmere scarf, a wool scarf and a hand-made cashmere and cotton blend jumper. The luxury yarns are sourced from suppliers in the UK who use yarns from sustainable sources. The knitwear is made using traditional hand knitting techniques and hand-finished. All the products are made in the UK at Corgi’s factory in Ammanford, Wales.

The range was designed by Costume Designer Ray Holman for the Thirteenth Doctor’s costume and is now available to fans across the world for the first time.

Ray Holman, Costume Designer, said:
I chose to work with Corgi after visiting the factory and seeing the high-quality materials they use and the beautiful products they create. As a small company in the heart of Wales the craft of knitting is still very much alive and we were able to use these skills in the creation of the jumpers, socks and scarves for this range. It has been a pleasure to work with Corgi and create such a wonderful range of garments for The Doctor.
Corgi is a Welsh, family-run company producing luxury socks and knitwear. Established in 1892, the company is still located in a small Welsh mining town and has developed a reputation as a leading luxury sock and knitwear brand. Corgi was awarded a Royal Warrant by HRH the Prince of Wales in 1988, and continues to supply the Royal family with knitted goods.

The launch coincides with a royal visit at the Corgi factory in Wales, with Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, daughter of Queen Elizabeth, arriving to meet staff in her capacity as President of the UK Fashion & Textile industry. Princess Anne was shown the new Doctor Who range as part of this visit and presented with a cashmere Doctor Who scarf as a gift.

Chris Jones at Corgi, said
We’re very excited to be working with BBC Studios on a product range for Doctor Who. Working with the creative team, we have produced a beautiful line of distinctive knitwear and socks that deliver both style and high quality that we hope fans will love!
Products are available to fans worldwide on the Corgi website corgisocks.com and range in price from £19 to £295 RRP

Doctor Who Customisable Shoulder and Laptop BagBookmark and Share

Sunday, 24 November 2019 - Reported by Chuck Foster
Official Doctor Who Customisable Shoulder Bag With Pins (Credit: Lovarzi) Official Doctor Who Customisable Shoulder Bag With Pins (Credit: Lovarzi)
Lovarzi have announced a new, shoulder/laptop bag for their collection of Doctor Who-themed apparel.

The new design features the ability to customise the front with pin badges, the bag coming with seven exclusive designs featuring the TARDIS, the Seal of Rassilon, K9, a Cyberman head, Weeping Angel, Bow Tie, and the Thirteenth Doctor Silhouette. The former six are all made from a high-quality, matte-finish metal, with the seventh printed in full-colour featuring the Thirteenth Doctor against a beautiful sunset background, with the TARDIS waiting to whisk her off across the universe. Additional pins for the bag will be released by the company later.

The bag's interior is further lined with a repeated TARDIS print, embossed with the Doctor Who logo both inside and out; it has internal organiser pockets on one side, and a buttoned area on the other to store devices measuring up to 15.6", e.g. a large laptop or tablet. A zipped panel allows access to the pins in order to change them as required.
Maninder Singh Sahota, Director of Lovarzi, explains:
I'm so happy to finally present our new bag – we've been working on it for over two years now! The original idea came from a desire to make a product no other fandom has seen before. Something unique. We had this particular design in mind since we first approached BBC Studios about making officially-licensed Doctor Who bags.
We wanted fans to be able to customise it: make it personal and stand out from the crowd. It comes with exclusive pins which you can screw into the holes on one side, meaning you can highlight your favourite parts of the show. Effectively, you're the designer!
Speaking of their range of products, Maninder adds:
I'm incredibly proud of our whole range. It's been wonderful seeing people getting so enthusiastic about what we do. We hope fans similarly love this unique bag – and all the exciting products we've got planned for the future!

Full details for the Doctor Who Customisable Shoulder Bag (with 7 Exclusive Pins) can be found at the Lovarzi website, where the bag can also be ordered. A video highlighting the bag can also be viewed on YouTube.

Lovarzi launch new Doctor Who apparel for ChristmasBookmark and Share

Saturday, 10 November 2018 - Reported by Chuck Foster
Lovarzi, the UK’s leading online scarf retailer, is expanding its Doctor Who range with new Winter 2018/19 products.

Maninder Singh Sahota, Director of Lovarzi, said:
Doctor Who has been an important part of Christmas for over a decade now. Our original Doctor Who Christmas Scarf and Hat hit shelves in 2016 and we were nonetheless blown away by demand. Our new sweater is a perfect accompaniment to these items, and we're sure fans will love them.

For the first time ever, we're also releasing officially-licensed women’s gloves this year. The Pandorica Opens Scarf proved popular, and it's such a beautiful painting, we thought it was the ideal image to launch this extension to the range.

Lovarzi: Christmas Sweater 2018 (Credit: Lovarzi)After his battles with the Sycorax, the Master, and Harmony Shoal, the Doctor probably prepares for trouble around Christmastime. But you can gear up for the festivities with the TARDIS and Dalek Christmas Sweater, an exclusive pattern which incorporates the Doctor's faithful time-space ship and his most prolific foes. The design is complete with killer Christmas trees (like the ones seen in The Christmas Invasion and The Runaway Bride) and snowflakes… or is that the Great Intelligence?

Made from high-quality Acrylic, this yuletide jumper will keep loved ones warm while defending Trenzalore, listening to the Singing Towers of Darillium, or wandering around the South Pole after an invasion of Cybermen.

Available to purchase from our Amazon UK shop.

Lovarzi: Pandorica Opens Gloves (Credit: Lovarzi)The Pandorica Opens Gloves feature the piece by Vincent van Gogh, created as a warning to Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor, depicting the disaster that cracked the universe: the TARDIS exploding, leading to total event collapse.
The stunning picture is digitally-printed on high-quality velvet-feel fabric, so shows the screen-accurate image in all its glorious detail.

Lovarzi: Cybermen Scarf (Credit: Lovarzi)Lovarzi's officially-licensed Doctor Who range launched in 2012, with the best-selling multi-coloured Fourth Doctor Scarf; since then, it's expanded to include the Seventh Doctor Paisley Silk Scarf, TARDIS Folding Umbrella, and Dalek Scarf.

But one of the show's most popular foes has been notable by its absence from the product line – until now. If you're suffering from a frailty of the flesh, the Cybermen will upgrade your body so you won't feel the cold. Or indeed anything else.

Alternatively, you can get an exclusively-designed Cybermen Scarf, which takes its repeated pattern from the ice-tombs of Telos, first seen in the Second Doctor serial, The Tomb of the Cybermen (1967). This classic story starred Patrick Troughton as the Time Lord, Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield, and Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon.

From The Tenth Planet (1966) to Silver Nemesis (1988), Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel (2006) to World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls (2017); the cybernetic race has thrived for over 50 years. Made from high-quality wool and Acrylic, The Tomb of the Cybermen Scarf is fittingly completed by the Cyber-Controller's promise: "We will survive"!

Available to purchase from our Amazon UK shop.

Maninder adds:
Yes, the range has been upgraded! There are so many much-loved Cyberman stories, it was difficult to pick just one to focus on. But The Tomb of the Cybermen perfectly sums up their menace and genius, and provides us with the instantly-recognisable Cyber-head insignia. Plus, when Matt Smith was cast as the Doctor, he watched some classic Doctor Who and fell in love with Tomb. And who's to blame him?!

Alongside these three items, a shorter, more manageable version of the Fourth Doctor Season 18 Burgundy Scarf is also now available. This second version is a more concise 200cm, so it's easier to wear day-to-day without dragging the tassels underneath you.

The TARDIS and Dalek Christmas Sweater and The Tomb of the Cybermen Scarf will be available to buy from 12th November from Lovarzi.co.uk and Amazon. The Pandorica Opens Gloves will be available to buy in last week of November.

Season 18 Burgundy ScarfBookmark and Share

Thursday, 18 October 2018 - Reported by Marcus
Season 18 Burgundy Scarf (Credit: Lovarzi)Season 18 Burgundy Scarf (Credit: Lovarzi)Season 18 Burgundy Scarf (Credit: Lovarzi)Following the sell-out success of Lovarzi's Fourth Doctor Season 18 Burgundy Scarf, the company has reproduced this iconic look in a shorter, more manageable size.

In 2013, Lovarzi released a 12ft Season 18 Scarf – and it quickly became a fan favourite. But due to popular demand, LOVARZI has made a second version, using the same screen-accurate design, but at a more concise 195 cm. That's around half the length of the previous one, meaning you can wrap up warm without dragging the tassels on the floor/ swamps of Alzarius.

The Fourth Doctor returned to television screens in 1980 with a new look which was fresh and bold, but still paid homage to the past. Designed by June Hudson, this darker outfit was made at the behest of incoming producer, John Nathan-Turner, and debuted in The Leisure Hive.

Baker wore this throughout his swansong season, as the Doctor faced a spiky duplicate in Meglos; explored E-Space in Full Circle, State of Decay, and Warrior's Gate; met The Keeper of Traken; and took a final fall in Logopolis.

The Fourth Doctor Season 18 Burgundy (Shorter) Scarf is made from high-quality lightweight Acrylic Chenille, staying true to the original. It also comes in a specially-designed carry-case, ideal for storage, so it's great for cosplayers and collectors.

Maninder Singh Sahota, Director of Lovarzi, says
When we released a shorter version of our original Tom Baker Scarf, we were overwhelmed by the response, especially at the Doctor Who Festival. Our full-sized scarves are great for conventions, but we know they can be unwieldy in everyday life. That's why we've made this shorter version of the Burgundy Scarf, perfect for fans to show off their credentials wherever they are.
Lovarzi's officially-licensed Doctor Who line launched in 2012 with the best-selling multi-coloured Fourth Doctor Scarf. Since then, the company has catered for fans of all eras with items including the Fourth Doctor Knitted Tie, TARDIS Folding Umbrella, and 18ft Season 16- 17 Scarf. The Fourth Doctor Season 18 Burgundy (Shorter) Scarf will be available to buy from 19th October 2018, priced £24.99, from Lovarzi.co.uk and Amazon.

Members of Lovarzi’s exclusive Doctor Who Fan Club can take advantage of a 15% discount on the Burgundy (Shorter) Scarf - and further discounts whenever new Doctor Who items are added to the range! Become a member by clicking here.
