Doctor Who continues its excellent ratings in Australia. TV Tonight reports that Flesh and Stone averaged 967,000 viewers in the five major capital cities, again despite stiff competition from the commercial networks. This was 58,000 more viewers than the previous week and the program's best overnight ratings since 1.033 million Australian viewers watched Matt Smith debut in The Eleventh Hour. Yet again it was the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's top-rating program of the day, rating higher than its popular Sunday 7pm news and a new episode of Foyle's War. The corresponding Confidential Cutdown also rated an excellent 629,000 viewers in the five major capitals.

The BBC have released a trailer for The Hungry Earth, on BBC One and BBC HD, Satuday 22nd May, 6.15pm.

Unofficial overnight figures show Amy's Choice was watched by 6.2 million viewers.

5.85 million watched on BBC One, where it was again the most watched programme of the evening, with an additional 0.34 million watching on BBC HD.

On a day when ratings were generally down on the previous week's figures, Doctor Who retained its audience and therefore increased its share to 33.0% of viewers.

The day was won once again by Britain's Got Talent with 9.7 million watching, a drop of a million on the previous week. On ITV1 against Doctor Who, You've Been Framed! Funniest 100 had 4.2 million watching.

Doctor Who is currently 17th for the week.

On BBC Three, Doctor Who Confidential had an audience of 0.49 million, where it was the 5th most watched programme on multi-channel Television. An additional 0.07 million watched on BBC HD.

The Scotsman is reporting that a new Doctor Who Stage Show will tour the UK later this year.

The BBC Worldwide show, titled Doctor Who: Here Come The Monsters will be in a similar format to the the successful Walking with Dinosaurs Arena tour last year.

The show will take place in a large staged area on the Arena floor and will feature special effects, and video scenes shot with Matt Smith. It will include stage battles between the Daleks and the Cybermen and be accompanied a live orchestra playing music by composer Murray Gold who said "The live element always adds something extra, but these will also be brand new arrangements for a new band of very talented musicians. It's very exciting."

Nine venues are to be included on the tour including the Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow. The show has been developed in association with executive producer Steven Moffat, who said: "This is everything I ever wanted since I was 11. A live show, with all the coolest Doctor Who monsters, a proper story, and brand new screen material.

More details should be available shortly and tickets are expected to go on sale in the next month.

The title of Episode Eleven of the 2010 series has been confirmed as The Lodger.

The title has been confirmed by the official BBC Doctor Who site as part of a guide to extras available for each episode.

The Eleventh Hour has become the most requested programme ever on the BBC iplayer.

The first episode of the new series has been requested, so far, over 1.78 million times. The previous record for iplayer requests was held by Episode One of the 13th series of Top Gear, screened last summer, which was requested 1.66 million times.

The first four episodes of Doctor Who were the top four requested programmes in April with over 5.2 million requests between them. EastEnders was the most requested programme in the month, with 7.69 million requests, although these were spread over twenty five episodes as opposed to Doctor Who's four.

Episodes of the current series are available in the UK on the BBC iPlayer from transmission date until Saturday 3rd July.

Episode Eight of the new series of Doctor Who will be broadcast at 6.15pm on Saturday 22nd May.

The programme has a new lead in this week, a repeat of the Alan Sugar Junior Apprentice series. It is followed once more by Over The Rainbow. On ITV viewers can see The Whole 19 Yards while BBC Two has Golf: PGA Championship followed by Coast. Channel 4 has Come Dine with Me followed by Channel 4 News, with Five showing the film How the West Was Won, a 1962 Western with James Stewart and John Wayne.

John Barrowman has given an interview to STV. The entertainer was promoting his return to Scotland where he stars in Aladdin at the at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre next Christmas.

He talked about his recent guest appearance in Desperate Housewives and the secret of his new hairstyle. Barrowman confirmed his wish to return to Doctor Who saying he would return at the drop of a hat if asked. He remained tight lipped on the future of Torchwood but appeared optimistic about the prospect of a new series.

The Doctor Who Theme has been voted the third most recognisable theme tune on British television.

The Doctor Who theme was composed in 1963 by Ron Grainer and was one of the first electronic music signature tunes for television. It was originally realised by Delia Derbyshire at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Since the 1960's there have been several versions of the theme with the latest, arranged by Murray Gold, accompanying the 2010 series.

The poll was conducted by the Performing Rights Society and named the Match of the Day theme as the most recognisable followed by the theme to EastEnders.
