Doctor Who The Caretaker had an Audience Appreciation Index or AI score of 83.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

Overall Doctor Who rated slightly higher with Women rather than Men and scored the highest within the 16-54 age group.

The X Factor once again topped the ratings for Sunday with 9.0 million viewers, while Downton Abbey had 8.1 million watching. Doctor Who is currently in 24th place for the week. Final figures will be published next week.

The Sunday repeat of The Caretaker on BBC Three had an overnight estimate of 0.27 million viewers, a 1.2% share of the audience.

Australian overnight ratings for The Caretaker

The Caretaker averaged 882,000 national viewers in Australia (these figures include the five major capital cities and regional and rural viewers). It was the second highest rating drama of the day (after The Code and Scorpion which were equal first on 904,000 national viewers) and the tenth highest rating program of the day overall. Excluding regional and rural viewers, this story averaged 569,000 viewers in the five major Australian capital cities and was also the tenth highest rating program of the day overall in the big cities. These ratings do not include time shifted viewers.

4.89 million viewers watched Doctor Who - The Caretaker according to unofficial overnight viewing figures.

The overnight rating is almost identical to the previous two weeks, despite the later time slot for Doctor Who, with the series now directly opposite The X Factor .

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing took top place for the day with 8.1 million viewers, while The X Factor itself had 7.7 million watching.

Doctor Who is currently 22nd for the Week. Final ratings will be available next Sunday.

Rare Doctor Who micro figures unveiled by Character Options

BBC TVC Memorabilia up for auction

BBC TVC Memorabilia: 11th Doctor Canvas (Credit: BBC/PPAuctions)A large variety of old items from BBC Television Centre are to be sold off in an online auction taking place over the first week of November, including a large, 3.5m wide by 2.5m high canvas backdrop that was used to promote Doctor Who during the eleventh Doctor's era.

The auction is being held by PPAuctions, which comes as the Television Centre itself is formally handed over to its new owners, Stanhope plc, at the end of the month; an earlier auction of BBC memorabilia was undertaken during June.

The BBC have confirmed that the seventh episode in the current run of Doctor Who, Kill the Moon, will broadcast at 8:30pm in the evening.

The programme will once more follow Strictly Come Dancing, the original UK version of the Dancing with the Stars franchise, and will be followed by Casualty. On the other main UK channels the episode is scheduled against ITV's The X Factor (which airs from 8:00pm to 9:20pm), a repeat of Dad's Army on BBC2, Grand Designs on Channel 4, and the spaghetti western Joe Kidd on Channel Five.

In the near future, the Doctor and Clara find themselves on a space shuttle, making a suicide mission to the Moon.

Crash-landing on the lunar surface, they find a mining base full of corpses, vicious spider-like creatures poised to attack, and a terrible dilemma.

When Clara turns to the Doctor for help, she gets the shock of her life.

Tom Baker Autographs

Tom Baker has announced, via his website, a new way to obtain autographs from the Fourth Doctor.

The actor will no longer accept requests sent through his agents as demand has become unmanageable. However fans can now purchase autographs here from his website, with 10% of the proceeds being donated to St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

As well as signing cards and photographs, Baker will sign personal paper based items such as video/DVD or CD cover, photo or other picture of himself. If you want an autograph for your copy of Baker’s autobiography or The Boy Who Kicked Pigs, please do not send the books, but send the dust jacket.
