Doctor Who: In The Forest Of The Night finished as the 20th most watched programme on British Television, according to figures from Barb.

The episode had an official 26.3% share of the total TV audience.

Top for the week was Strictly Come Dancing which had 10.65 million watching, just above ITV's Downton Abbey, with 10.21 million viewers.

Doctor Who was the 6th highest rated programme on BBC Television.

In fact, DOCTOR WHO is the most-watched television program on Saturday nights in Canada during its 9 p.m. ET timeslot among total viewers and all key demos.

Doctor Who Dark Water had an Audience Appreciation Index or AI score of 85.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

On Sunday, six programmes scored higher than Doctor Who, pushing the show into 29th place for the week. Final figures and chart position will be released next week.

The Sunday repeat of Dark Water on BBC Three had an overnight estimate of 0.26 million viewers, a 1.0% share of the audience.

5.27 million viewers watched Doctor Who: Dark Water, according to unofficial overnight figures, 22.4% of the total TV audience at the time.

Doctor Who was fourth for the day on overnights, with Pointless Celebrities, featuring former companion Bonnie Langford, edging ahead of the Doctor with 5.49 million watching, although this position is likely to be reversed when final figures are available.

Strictly Come Dancing was top for the day with 9.7 million watching, while up against Doctor Who, The X Factor had 7.45 million viewers.

Doctor Who is currently 23rd for the week. Final official figures will be available next Sunday.
