Katarina Returns for Big Finish

Monday, 18 March 2019 - Reported by Marcus
Ajjaz Awad as Katarina (Credit: Big Finish)Big Finish Productions are bringing back the First Doctor's Companion Katarina for a new set of Audio adventures

As well as the return of the companion, originally played in 1965 by the late Adrienne Hill, the Early Adventures stories this year will see classic Doctors colliding, quite literally.

Doctor Who – The Early Adventures, Series Six, will help celebrate 20 years of Doctor Who on audio, in association with BBC Studios.

Daughter of the Gods by David K Barnes is the first adventure in Series Six of Doctor Who – The Early Adventures to be released this year. This adventure will see the First Doctor and Second Doctor meeting, on a mission to alter the course of time forever.
When Zoe reattaches an old piece of equipment to the TARDIS console, she, Jamie and the Doctor are very lucky to avoid a collision. But the place they find themselves in may be even more dangerous - because there they encounter another Doctor, a space pilot called Steven... and a young woman called Katarina who really shouldn’t be there.
In Daughter of the Gods, Frazer Hines as the Second Doctor and Jamie, and Wendy Padbury as Zoe are reunited, continuing to travel the cosmos. But then they bump into someone they should really avoid.

Cast and crew of Daughter of the Gods (Credit: Big Finish)Peter Purves returns as Steven Taylor and takes on the mantle of the First Doctor. Plus, joining him, in a Big Finish first, is Ajjaz Awad (Stones, Holby City), playing the lost companion Katarina.

Many may not recognise Katarina, as unfortunately, only one of the episodes which she starred in still exists, the rest having being lost to time over the last 50 years. However, the Trojan handmaiden Katarina makes a re-appearance, to celebrate Doctor Who on audio’s 20th anniversary.

David K Barnes tells us more about this unlikely resurrection, and how to write a story where Time Lords collide
From the beginning, I had so many exciting elements to play with. Contrasting the fun and frolics of the Troughton years with the darker days of the late Hartnell era was something I wanted to get my teeth into, with the Daleks providing their customary threat.

However, I always knew what the core of my story should be. What could possibly bring the two Doctors into conflict, on the opposite sides of a dilemma?

It could only be the fate of Katarina.
Big Finish Listeners may recognise David K Barnes from his other recent work in the Doctor Who Early Adventures range. Barnes wrote last year’s very popular story, The Dalek Occupation of Winter.

The Second Doctor crew and the Master (Credit: Big Finish)Also to be announced is the second story in Doctor Who - The Early Adventures Series Six. The Home Guard by Simon Guerrier features the Second Doctor and Jamie (both played by Frazer Hines) journeying together with Polly (Anneke Wills) and Ben Jackson (Elliott Chapman) – but things are not all as they seem
It’s the middle of the Second World War and Ben Jackson has returned to visit his married friends Polly and Jamie in their quiet English village. But they can’t quite shake the feeling that something’s not right.
For the first time in Big Finish and Doctor Who history, the Second Doctor and his companions will be encountering the Master… Reprising his role as the first incarnation of the Master is James Dreyfus, who listeners will recognise from the December 2017 release, The First Doctor Adventures Volume One. He’s back, and more malevolent than ever.

Simon Guerrier told us more about this story
I found out that when the first episode of Dad’s Army went out in 1968, James Beck (playing dodgy dealer Walker) invited a good friend round to watch it, and that good friend was Doctor Who story editor and writer David Whitaker. It was roughly around the time Whitaker was working on The Enemy of the World and The Wheel in Space, and so I started to think about how you’d do a Dad’s Army kind of Doctor Who story with that kind of baroque, complicated plotting.
These two adventures in the sixth series of Doctor Who – The Early Adventures will be released in November 2019, priced at £14.99 on CD or £10.99 on download individually. They are also available to purchase together in a bundle, priced at £26 on CD or £20 on download.

War Master battles the Eighth Doctor for Big Finish

Tuesday, 8 January 2019 - Reported by Marcus
The War Master: The Rage of the Time Lords (Credit: Big Finish)In a climactic audio battle the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) takes on the War Master (Derek Jacobi) in The War Master: The Rage of the Time Lords, coming out in July 2019 from Big Finish Productions.

Sir Derek Jacobi reprises the role of the War Master opposite Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor in the third series of The War Master audio adventures made in association with BBC Studios.

In The War Master: The Rage of the Time Lords, four new stories explore the Master’s exploits in the Time War.
  1. The Survivor by Tim Foley
  2. The Coney Island Chameleon by David Llewellyn
  3. The Missing Link by Tim Foley
  4. Darkness and Light by David Llewellyn
With all of space and time in chaos, the Master plots his most audacious project yet. Only one other Time Lord has ever been able to stop him. But where is that Time Lord when the universe needs him?

This new series of adventures take the Master into darker terrain as he gathers his forces against the Daleks in one of his most nefarious schemes to date. Will the Doctor stop him? Will he want to? Or has the Master’s deadly scheme proved too great to be controlled…

Producer and director Scott Handcock told us more
This incarnation of the Master is very much the ‘Hannibal Lecter’ of Time Lords – intelligent, charming, but thoroughly ruthless. We had a lot of fun in studio bringing the War Master back to life! It’s been a gift of a project, and we can’t wait for listeners to hear it.”

Sir Derek was only seen on screen for one TV episode. On returning to the role on audio in 2017, he said: “I didn’t expect to come back to it all these years later but I was thrilled to be remembered. The plots in all these episodes have been very good indeed, very interesting, very dramatic and beautifully written. The whole process has been a delight!
The War Master: The Rage of the Time Lords is being released in the 20th anniversary year of Doctor Who on audio, and it showcases some of the best qualities of the format. One of the greatest delights for Big Finish is being able to further explore and add to the mythology of characters such as the Eighth Doctor and the Master.

Series three, The War Master: Rage of the Time Lords will materialise in July 2019 written by Tim Foley and David Llewellyn. Series four, The War Master: Anti-Genesis written by Nicholas Briggs and Alan Barnes, will complete the saga in December 2019.

The first two series in The War Master range – Only the Good and The Master of Callous – are available from Big Finish Productions each at £35 on CD or £30 on download, while series three and four are available for pre-order now each at £23 on CD or £20 on download.

Torchwood’s Captain John Hart returns for Big Finish

Thursday, 20 December 2018 - Reported by Marcus
The Sins of Captain John (Credit: Big Finish)James Marsters, the star of cult television shows Buffy, Angel, Smallville and recent hit Runaways, is reprising the role of Captain John Hart for his own adventures in the Torchwood audio universe.

The rambunctious, deadly and ever-so charming captain will be back at the helm in a new four-story box set, The Sins of Captain John, created by Big Finish Productions in association with BBC Studios.

Captain John Hart made his audio debut in The Death of Captain Jack, released in March 2018. In this story he killed the entire Torchwood team – including John Barrowman’s supposedly immortal Captain Jack Harkness. He also married Queen Victoria and had no less than three ‘relationships’ with characters from history.

James Marsters told us about returning to the role, and the world of Torchwood.
Doing The Death of Captain Jack was incredible! I have missed doing Torchwood so much. Beyond being proud of playing a part in it, the character itself is a blast to play, and those two episodes just weren’t enough.
Set for release in January 2020, The Sins of Captain John will see Captain John Hart leading the universe into rack and ruin in four new adventures…
  1. The Restored
  2. Escape from Nebazz
  3. Peach Blossom Heights
  4. Darker Purposes
In these stories we’ll find the villainous anti-hero thriving in Restoration London, exploring gas planets, playing ‘Stepford wife' and kissing (then killing) countless victims… Just a day in the life of a rogue Time Agent!

Writer, David Llewellyn, tells us what to expect
Writing The Death of Captain Jack was a total blast, and both James Goss (producer of the Torchwood range) and I realised we could have a lot more fun with Captain John Hart, providing James Marsters was happy to return.

Captain John is this chaotic, disruptive, insubordinate force of nature; completely amoral and unpredictable, so that gave me a lot of freedom! Writing is often a case of knowing when to hold back, when to tread a more subtle line, but with Captain John it’s the complete opposite. And setting it before Torchwood on television meant we were able to go to places where Torchwood can’t.
Torchwood fans will also find answers to many of the questions and plot points that have so far been left hanging from the beginning of the television show. More details on what in the future.

The Sins of Captain John, out for release in January 2020, is available for pre-order from Big Finish at £28 on CD or £25 on download, rising to £35 on CD and £30 on download at general release

Billie Piper Back As Rose Tyler for Big Finish

Monday, 26 November 2018 - Reported by Marcus
The Dimension Cannon (Credit: Big Finish)Rose Tyler, as played by Billie Piper, is returning for a new Doctor Who audio spin-off, and she’s bringing along her family and friends.

Rose Tyler: The Dimension Cannon,is a new audio series made by Big Finish Productions in association with BBC Studios. It follows Rose’s journey through dying parallel worlds and also stars Camille Coduri as Rose’s mum Jackie, Shaun Dingwall as her dad Pete, Mark Benton as alien investigator Clive Finch and Elli Garnett as Caroline Finch.

Producer David Richardson tells how the series came about.
I approached Russell T Davies with the idea of Big Finish making a Rose Tyler spin-off. He was very enthusiastic - as always - and suggested we followed Rose’s journey that ultimately leads to her finding the Doctor in The Stolen Earth. I found the pro-posal irresistible, and instantly script editor Matt Fitton and I were throwing around ideas. There is a whole multiverse of possibilities. Russell suggested including Jackie and Pete, and embraced my idea of including a parallel universe version of Clive - who of course was killed off in the TV series (in the 2005 episode Rose).

Russell guided us gently through the development - steering us towards ideas that worked brilliant-ly, ensuring things that needed improvement were fixed, and also throwing out the ideas that didn’t work. I’m absolutely delighted with what we have - a family drama about the end of worlds. It’s about love and loss and things that might have been - and our brilliant cast have embraced the emo-tional scripts.

What we have is different from previous iterations. It’s rather dark (though never short on wit and charm) but it’s not really about villains. It focuses on the fight to survive against the odds, and on the power of family and love.
The four episodes follow Rose’s mission to seek out the Doctor, the only person who can save the doomed multi-verse.
  1. The Endless Night by Jonathan Morris
  2. The Flood by Lisa McMullin
  3. Ghost Machines by AK Benedict
  4. The Last Party on Earth by Matt Fitton
Billie Piper / Camile Coduri (Credit: Big Finish)The series has its own distinct tone. Focusing on the era of Russell T Davies, there are no alien threats or villains to defeat. Instead these amazing stories capture and showcase the beautifully rich human characters of Doctor Who.

Billie Piper shared her excitment at returning to the role.
I love how normal Rose is, and yet really extraordinary. She lived a normal av-erage life but she is incredibly curious and has an enormous capacity for love and empathy and is really spirited. She is extraordinary.

That’s the great thing about Doctor Who. It challenges new-thinking. It’s progressive and it can be political in amongst these human emotions and relationships. I think that’s its greatest appeal.
From the worlds of Doctor Who, Rose Tyler – The Dimension Cannon will be released in September 2019, available for pre-order now on CD at £25 on CD and £20 on download.

Mags returns with the Seventh Doctor for Big Finish

Thursday, 22 November 2018 - Reported by Marcus
Jessica Martin / Sylvester McCoy (Credit: Big Finish)Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy is joined by Jessica Martin reprising her role of Mags for a new series of audio adventures from Big Finish.

In this trilogy of tales the punk werewolf circus performer, first seen in 1988’s Doctor Who story The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, joins the Seventh Doctor to embark on a positively gothic series of adventures. They’ll encounter werewolves, vampiric creatures and angry mobs of villagers, ticking every hammer-horror convention with a Doctor Who twist.

The Monsters of Gokroth by Matt Fitton will be released in April 2019. An Alien Werewolf in London by Alan Barnes will be released in May 2019, and The Moons of Vulpana by Emma Reeves will follow in June 2019.

Jessica Martin, actress, singer, impressionist and illustrator, who plays Mags, talked about returning to the role on audio:
It’s wonderful. I can’t quite believe it, I have to retrospectively thank John Nathan-Turner and Steven Wyatt who wrote The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, which spawned so many wonderful characters. It’s great to be back all these years later.

In today’s society we’re always talking about people who are outsiders, people who suffer with the darkness within… it’s something that everyone can relate to. The wonderful thing about these new stories is that they truly expand the character of Mags.
Jessica Martin has not only returned to the character for these audio adventures, but also has illustrated new comic adventures for Mags, in a new story from Titan Comics, Hill of Beans, written by Richard Dinnick.

Script-editor and writer of many of the Doctor Who audio adventures created by Big Finish, Alan Barnes, told us about bringing back Mags as a fully-fledged companion
When we first met Mags the werewolf in The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, she was the travelling companion of another space adventurer, the Captain. She was such an engaging character that it seemed unfair that she didn't go off with the Doctor in the TARDIS at the end, which would have been so 'right', dramatically speaking. It would have opened up some really interesting story possibilities, too: how would it work, having someone who might turn into a savage beast as a companion?

So reuniting Mags with the Doctor was on my 'to do' list for years and years, and I was determined to make it happen before I stopped being script editor of the Main Range. And thankfully, the stars aligned!
Director, Samuel Clemens (making his directorial debut in these releases), tells us more about the stories
Each episode is very unique and shines a light on a different horror genre, from werewolves to monsters to vampires! They have all been very different and a real challenge but very exciting to record because the writing is so good.

Jessica stepped straight back into the role she made so memorable thirty years before. She is such great fun and brings a real ease and lightness to the role but underpins it with a darkness that lurks beneath.

Sylvester is always the consummate professional and incredibly fun to be around. He always has lovely little ideas that he slips into the role and his delivery is so unique, playful and beguiling. He always surprises you. Putting the Doctor and Mags back together has been very special and these three adventures explore some universally interesting themes, whilst being fun, dark and ultimately a thrilling ride to go on.
These three Doctor Who Main Range adventures will be available at £14.99 on CD or £12.99 on download on their release in April, May and June 2019, all available from bigfinish.com. All CD purchases unlock a download option via the Big Finish app and the Big Finish website.

Georgia Tennant / Peter Davison (Credit: Big Finish)There’s a family reunion in The Legacy of Time – Big Finish’s epic new release celebrating 20 years of Doctor Who in Audio. In the fourth story of the deluxe box set, the Fifth Doctor – played by Peter Davison, will be meeting his future daughter Jenny – played by his real-life daughter Georgia Tennant.

In Relative Time by Matt Fitton, Jenny (who also stars in her own new series of adventures: Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter) meets an earlier regeneration of her father and together they’ll need all their wits about them to defeat Time Lord, the Nine, played by John Heffernan (The Crown, Ripper Street).

Disaster strikes inside the Time Vortex, throwing together the Fifth Doctor and his future daughter Jenny – and the Nine sees an opportunity to steal something huge.

As well as starring in her own series, Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter, Georgia Tennant also featured alongside her father at the age of 16 in Big Finish’s Eighth Doctor Who release, Red Dawn released in 2000.

David Richardson, producer of The Legacy of Time, told us about bringing the family together
It was just an irresistible idea, the thought of pairing father and daughter, playing father and daughter, in our massive 20th-anniversary special. And it’s great to have Jenny back again after the enormous success of her debut on audio – the series received universally positive reviews and an outpouring of love from listeners, so we’re looking forward to even more adventures with The Doctor’s Daughter.

The Legacy of Time is quite possibly the biggest Doctor Who story we have ever told at Big Finish. It’s been so hugely satisfying to make – I hope everyone finds it just as satisfying to listen to!
Doctor Who: The Legacy of Time will be released in July 2019, marking the 20th anniversary of Big Finish’s first Doctor Who release, The Sirens of Time.

The Paternoster Gang return for Big Finish

Monday, 5 November 2018 - Reported by Marcus
The Paternoster Gang (Credit: Big Finish)Audio producer Big Finish is to bring back The Paternoster Gang for a new series of audio adventures

Neve McIntosh, Catrin Stewart and Dan Starkey return as Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax the Sontaran for their own adventures in The Paternoster Gang – Heritage.

Set during the Victorian London of the Twelfth Doctor’s era, the Paternoster Gang have finally been reunited. The much-loved characters from the Steven Moffat era of Doctor Who will return next year in a new set of audios from Big Finish Productions made in association with BBC Studios.

They’ll be facing the first electronic automated cars in London (very ahead of their time), hordes of zombies, and ghost-like figures which are haunting Greenwich before their former selves have died.

Plus they’ll have to cope with the capers of the Bloomsbury bunch! This intergalactic alien trio, comprising a Sontaran couple and their Silurian female servant, will be causing trouble in London – and this town isn’t big enough for two extraterrestrial gangs.

The first adventure for the Paternoster Gang is being released as part of The 8th of March celebratory box set. Following this, four volumes, each containing three adventures, are coming out in 2019 and 2020, kicking off with volume one, Heritage, being released in April:
  • 1.1 The Cars that ate London by Jonathan Morris
  • 1.2 A Photograph to Remember by Roy Gill
  • 1.3 The Ghosts of Greenwich by Paul Morris
Catrin Stewart, Neve McIntosh, Dan Starkey (Credit: Big Finish)Dan Starkey, who plays Sontaran butler Strax, told us about the gangs triumphant return
Remain calm, human scum! Strax need no longer sulk and polish his grenades! It'll be a pleasure to get the gang back together: Big Finish listeners can be assured that we'll be in full prosthetics and restrictive Victorian tailoring in studio to get right back into the Paternoster Row vibe! Can't wait to get started!
Neve McIntosh, who plays Madame Vastra, says
At last our fans will get more adventures with The Paternoster Gang and will find out more about how we came to be!
The Paternoster Gang Volumes 1-4 are available for pre-order now ahead of their release in April 2019, October 2019, March 2020 and October 2020, at £25 on CD or £20 on download each from bigfinish.com and will remain at this price until general release when they will be available for £30 on CD or £25 on download each.

Zygon Hunt On Vinyl

Wednesday, 17 October 2018 - Reported by Marcus
Zygon Hunt (Credit: Big Finish)Following the sell-out success of Big Finish Productions limited edition Doctor Who stories on vinyl earlier this year, the audio company have announced another exclusive release.

Sainsbury's will release Doctor Who: Zygon Hunt starring Tom Baker and Louise Jameson on 19th October 2018.

The Zygons returned to take on Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor in this Doctor Who full-cast audio drama from 2014. The Doctor had previously encountered the Zygons and a Skarasen on Tulloch Moor, Scotland in the 1975 television story, Terror of the Zygons.

Of the Zygon Hunt release, the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker said
Well! I’m at the disposal of the fans who created me and sustain me. If they want me flat and round and vinyl and spinning too, well, I’m their Who to whit to woo.
Designer Mark Plastow said
Adapting the format for these Big Finish releases has been a joy – I get to indulge in two of my obsessions. I adore Doctor Who and I adore vinyl, and putting the two together makes the world just that little bit better. Art really doesn’t like being squeezed down to a measly 12cm, it wants to be big and bold, it wants to be on your wall!
The release will be a numbered limited edition on coloured vinyl, and only available in the UK.

Zygon Hunt was the eighth and final story in the third series of The Fourth Doctor Adventures, produced by Big Finish Productions.

River Song Series 6/7 Confirmed For Big Finish

Friday, 12 October 2018 - Reported by Marcus
Christopher Benjamin / Alex Kingston (Credit: Big Finish) Alex Kingston is set to reprise her role as the Doctor’s wife, River Song, in two more audio series of The Diary of River Song from Big Finish Productions – with River going back in time to clean up her husband’s timeline.

Another two series of The Diary of River Song can be confirmed, with Series Six arriving in August 2019 followed by Series Seven in January 2020.

After meeting five incarnations of the Doctor and four incarnations of the Doctor’s mortal enemy, the Master, while exploring time and space, River continues to travel the cosmos. However, she’ll be crashing into the Doctor’s timeline during some of the most famous Doctor Who stories of all time.

Big Finish will be confirming more details over the coming weeks, but today we can reveal that in the final story of The Diary of River Song Series Six, River will be travelling back to Victorian London, just before the classic Fourth Doctor story, The Talons of Weng-Chiang.

In The Talents of Greel, by Paul Morris, River will be playing detective, working out what is happening to the performers of London town, and her investigations take her to the Palace Theatre where she’ll meet Henry Gordon Jago, played by Christopher Benjamin.

Angus Wright (Kingdom of Heaven, The Iron Lady) plays Magnus Greel (reprising the role from an earlier audio adventure, The Butcher of Brisbane), Nicholas Goh plays Li H’Sen Chang and the villainous ventriloquist’s doll, Mr Sin, and Casey the Irishman is played by John Paul Connolly.

David Richardson, producer, tells us more
Working in the wonderful world of The Talons of Weng-Chiang is not unusual for me having produced so many spin-off audio adventures for Jago and Litefoot. Here we are back at the Palace Theatre, in those last days before Jago met Litefoot, when the maniac Magnus Greel is skulking below in his secret laboratory, and his servant Li H’Sen Chang is performing on stage and doing his master’s bidding.

We’ve worked hard to authentically recreate the story – think of this as episode zero of The Talons of Weng-Chiang; our guest cast all watched the original before coming to the studio. Needless to say Angus Wright, Nicholas Goh and John Paul Connolly make a fantastic Greel, Chang and Casey!
Alex Kingston told us more about side-stepping into these classic stories from the Whoniverse
I’m loving the idea of going back and utilising stories already aired… it’s a real writers’ time travel! It’s lovely to stay holding onto these series from the past, bringing back these characters and giving them life again. There’s endless opportunities! Let’s just not go to the giant maggots…

Christopher Benjamin is just delightful and extraordinary… he has a fabulous voice, and he is very funny!
You can pre-order series six and series seven of The Diary of River Song now, available for release in August 2019 and January 2020, priced at £25 on CD or £20 on download. Or save in a bundle together with both series six and series seven at £48 on CD or £40 on download.

Tenth Doctor and Donna Back For More Audio Adventures

Wednesday, 10 October 2018 - Reported by Marcus
David Tennant, Catherine Tate (Credit: Big Finish)David Tennant and Catherine Tate are to reprise their roles in Doctor Who for three more audio adventures in time and space, in The Tenth Doctor Adventures - Volume 3.

And they’re taking the family with them...

Jacqueline King will return as Sylvia Noble, Donna’s mother and, returning to Big Finish after an eleven-year absence, Bernard Cribbins will reprise his role as Wilfred Mott, Donna’s grandfather.

The Doctor and Donna will be back in action, with three new audio adventures coming May 2019.

3.1 No Place by James Goss

It's Haunted Makeovers! The home improvement show with a spooky twist.
The Noble family are hoping to cast out a few spirits along with the old bathroom suite, as presenter Justin joins Donna, Wilf, Sylvia and the Doctor for the latest edition of his reality TV series.
Of course, Justin knows that any supernatural phenomena can be faked. Ghosts can't possibly be real.
Can they..?
3.2 One Mile Down by Jenny T Colgan

Donna and the Doctor take a holiday - in the beautiful underwater city of Vallarasee.
Things have changed since the Doctor last swam through it: Vallarasee is now enclosed inside an airdome. Judoon patrol historic sites, and instead of tourists wearing helmets to breathe, the native Fins are forced to adapt.
But leaks have begun to trickle into the dome, and the Doctor and Donna must convince the Judoon that disaster is imminent. Or else thousands will be trapped, as the waters rise...
3.3 The Creeping Death by Roy Gill

London, 1952, and a deadly smog envelops the capital.
But something even more dangerous - and alien - is hiding within the mists.
When the Doctor and Donna get lost in the fog, they find a motley group of Londoners trying to make their way home. Soon the stakes are raised, as death creeps along fume-choked streets, and not everyone will make it out alive....
Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume Three (Credit: Big Finish) Due for release in May 2019, we can look forward to menacing threats lurk in 1950s London’s smog in a tale by Roy Gill, dangerous underwater worlds with the Judoon in a thriller by Jenny T Colgan, and James Goss taking the Doctor, Donna and family on their most treacherous journey yet... into the horrifying world of reality television!

Jacqueline King who plays Donna’s mother, the incomparable Sylvia Noble, told us about returning to the role:
Doctor Who has been the gift that keeps on giving. I started, believing I was to appear in one Christmas episode, then was thrilled to appear in more. I recently returned to the role with Big Finish and it was like putting a cherished old sweater back on. That old sweater will have to be washed and conditioned ready for this episode with the A team back in full. Can’t believe my luck. I’m guessing it might actually feel a bit emotional.
Producer David Richardson says
Three box sets in and my excitement about working on The Tenth Doctor Adventures is as strong as ever. When we first started thinking about this new set of stories, I emailed Russell T Davies to ask about including Sylvia. He suggested we should try for Wilf too – it had never occurred to me that we might be able to get Bernard Cribbins involved. But a call to Bernard’s agent revealed how delighted he was by the prospect, and there we had it – the Noble family together again, nine years after they last appeared on TV.
Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume Three (Limited Edition) is available now for pre-order. A five-disc collector’s edition – limited to 5,000 copies – is available on CD in deluxe bookset packaging for a pre-release price of £35, with the download version for £25.

Included with the limited edition CD release, Doctor Who and Blake’s 7 costume designer June Hudson has created costume designs for the creatures and aliens, and writer and SFX specialist Mike Tucker has created storyboards for the new stories. With behind-the-scenes interviews from some of the cast and crew as well, this limited edition makes for an unmissable audio package.

The three episodes, No Place, One Mile Down and The Creeping Death can also be bought individually for £8.99 on download and £10.99 on CD. Or you can buy all three individually but together in a bundle for £22 on download and £25 on CD.
