Mummy On The Orient Express - Overnight Viewing Figures

5.08 million viewers watched Doctor Who: Mummy On The Orient Express, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Doctor Who, which had a share of 22.1% of the audience, was the third most watched programme of the day. Top of the chart was Strictly Come Dancing which had 8.65 million viewers. Over on ITV The X Factor was top with 7.55 million watching.

The episode of Doctor Who was broadcast at 8.37pm making it the latest showing for the series in its entire history.

Doctor Who is currently 19th for the week. Final figures should be available next Sunday.

The Caretaker - Chart Placing

Doctor Who The Caretaker was the twentieth most watched programme for the week on British Television, according to figures provided by Barb.

The episode was the 7th most watched programme on BBC Television for the week, with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing taking top position.

Overall Downton Abbey was the highest rated programme of the week with 10.46 million watching, once ITV HD and ITV+1 figures are added in. The X Factor also did well with all three editions rating higher than Doctor Who. The top soaps, Coronation Street, EastEnders and episodes of Emmerdale all entered the top twenty.

Australian overnight ratings for Kill the Moon

Against stiff competition from the National Rugby League Grand Final, Kill the Moon averaged 447,000 in the five major Australian capital cities and was the fourteenth highest rating program of the day overall in the big cities (these figures do not include regional and rural viewers or time shifted viewers). For the second time this series, Doctor Who also slipped outside the top ten national programs as well (which includes the five major capitals and regional and rural viewers).

Doctor Who Kill The Moon had an Audience Appreciation Index or AI score of 82.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

Overall Doctor Who rated slightly higher with women than with men and scored the highest within the 16-35 age group. 45% of the sample thought the programme felt 'Fresh and New'.

Strictly Come Dancing topped the ratings for Sunday with 8.84 million viewers, while The X Factor and Downton Abbey took 2nd and 3rd place. Doctor Who is currently in 26th place for the week. Final figures will be published next week.

The Sunday repeat of Kill the Moon on BBC Three had an overnight estimate of 0.29 million viewers, a 1.2% share of the audience.

4.82 million viewers watched Doctor Who - Kill The Moon, a share of 21.5% of the total TV audience, according to unofficial overnight viewing figures.

Doctor Who was the third most watched programme of the day, with Strictly Come Dancing once more taking the top slot with 8.84 million watching. ITV's top prpgramme was The X Factor with 7.18 million viewers. Casualty was just behind Doctor Who with 4.74 million watching.

Doctor Who is currently the 21st most watched programme of the week. Final figures will be released next week.

Time Heist - Chart Placing

Time Heist has now been confirmed as being the 14th most watched programme on British Television for the week ending 21st September 2014.

The episode, which just slipped below the 7 million mark, with 6.99 million viewers, was the fifth most watched programme on BBC Television, where The Great British Bake Off took top place with 10.28 million watching.

The return of Downton Abbey on ITV, topped the chart with 10.71 million watching, while The X Factor had 9.94 million viewers. The drama based on the life of Cilla Black, Cilla took fifth place with 8.6 million viewers.

Figures include those watching within 1 week of transmission in HD, SD and via the +1 service. They don't include iPlayer.

The Caretaker averaged 882,000 national viewers in Australia (these figures include the five major capital cities and regional and rural viewers). It was the second highest rating drama of the day (after The Code and Scorpion which were equal first on 904,000 national viewers) and the tenth highest rating program of the day overall. Excluding regional and rural viewers, this story averaged 569,000 viewers in the five major Australian capital cities and was also the tenth highest rating program of the day overall in the big cities. These ratings do not include time shifted viewers.
