Doctor Who: The Tsuranga Conundrum had an official rating of 7.76 million viewers, according to figures released by the Broadcasting Research Audience Board, BARB.

7.50 million watched the episode on a conventional TV set. However the BARB 4-Screen Dashboard shows that an additional 148,000 watched on their PC, 66,000 watched on a Tablet device and 53,000 watched on a smartphone These figures make Doctor Who the 6th most watched programme of the week ending 28th October.

Top for the week was Saturdays edition of Strictly Come Dancing getting 11.13 million watching. Channel 4 took number 2 with The Great British Bake Off getting 10.34 million viewers.

The Tsuranga Conundrum had an Appreciation Index score of 79, again scoring higher with female viewers.

Arachnids In The UK - Official Viewing Figures

7.97 million watched the episode on a conventional TV set. However the BARB 4-Screen Dashboard shows that an additional 131,000 watched on their PC, 62,000 watched on a Tablet device and 51,000 watched on a smartphone These figures make Doctor Who the 4th most watched programme of the week ending 28th October.

Top for the week were the two editions of Strictly Come Dancing, with the Saturday show getting 11.47 million watching. Channel 4 once more took number 3 with The Great British Bake Off getting 9.50 million viewers.

On ITV Coronation Street managed to get 7.86 million watching and was fifth in the weekly chart.

Arachnids In The UK had an Appreciation Index score of 83.

Wheel In Space - Animated Mini Episode

Credit: BBCA new animated sequence from the 1968 Doctor Who story, The Wheel In Space, is to get its debut at the British Film Institute's Southbank Centre this December.

The 10-minute sequence is from Episode 1 of the six-part story. The episode has been missing from the BBC archives since it was junked in the early 1970's. Only two of the six episodes from the story still exist in the archives.

This newly announced mini-episode is produced by Charles Norton, who produced the animated versions of Power of the Daleks and Shada. It is directed by Anne Marie Walsh who will introduce the BFI Southbank screening and will be included on a future BBC DVD.

The screening is part of the annual Missing Believed Wiped event at the BFI, marking its 25th Anniversary this year. The screening, Session One on 15 December, will also feature previously lost episodes of Vince Hill at The Talk of the Town.

Session 2, later the same day will feature an interview with Philip Morris, the man responsible for returning a number of missing Doctor Who episodes to the archives. Among the clips and shows featured in this session are appearances from Morecambe and Wise and the earliest surviving episode from the first series of The Basil Brush Show.

Tickets for both Missing Believed Wiped sessions on 15 December go on sale to BFI members on 6 November and the general public from 13 November, with joint ticket option available for both sessions.

The Tsuranga Conundrum - Overnight Viewing Figures

Doctor Who: The Tsuranga Conundrum was watched by 6.12 million viewers, a share of 29.5% of the total TV audience, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The rating makes Doctor Who the second highest rated programme for the Sunday and the 6th for the week ending 4th November.

Sunday's ratings for all programmes were slightly down on last week, probably because of the large number of firework displays around the country marking Bonfire Night. Highest for the day was the Strictly Come Dancing - Results Show which had 8.83 million viewers, with the BBC Drama The Little Drummer Girl had 3.82 million.

ITV peaked with 4.12 million watching The X Factor while, against Doctor Who, The Chase: Celebrity Special had 3.74 million viewers.

Saturdays Strictly Come Dancing topped the week with 9.46 million, while Channel 4 achieved one of its best every ratings, coming third for the week with 7.51 million watching The Great British Bake Off. Monday's two editions of Coronation Street took 4th and 5th places.

Final figures should be released next Monday.
