Official figures released by the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board or BARB, give Doctor Who - Thin Ice an official rating of 5.51 million viewers.

The rating includes all those who recorded the programme and watched it within 7 days.

Doctor Who is the 25th most watched programme for the week, and 10th most watched on BBC One

Top for the week was ITV's Britain's Got Talent with 10.60 million watching. Drama's doing well include BBC One's Line of Duty with 9.92 million and ITV's Little Boy Blue with 7.17 million. Doctor Who sliped behind the soaps EastEnders and Emmerdale as well as Coronation Street.

Doctor Who was the second highest BBC One programme for Saturday night, just behind of the entertainment show All Round to Mrs Brown's

The rating includes all those who recorded the programme and watched it within 7 days.

Doctor Who is the 23rd most watched programme for the week, and 8th most watched on BBC One

Top for the week was incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall's Broadchurch, starring David Tennant, which beat ITV's Britain's Got Talent, to take the top place with 11.61 million watching. Unlike last week , Doctor Who sliped behind the soaps EastEnders and Emmerdale as well as Coronation Street.

Doctor Who remained the top BBC One programme for Saturday night, just ahead of the entertainment show All Round to Mrs Brown's

Official figures released by the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board or BARB, gives Doctor Who - The Pilot an official rating of 6.68 million viewers.

The rating includes all those who recorded the programme and watched it within 7 days. It is over 2 million higher than the initially reported overnight figure.

Doctor Who is the tenth most watched programme for the week, the highest chart position for a non-Christmas episode since Listen in 2014.

Top for the week was ITV's Britain's Got Talent, which had 11.04 million viewers. Incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall's Broadchurch, starring David Tennant, was 2nd for the week.

Smile - Overnight Viewing Figures

Doctor Who: Smile (Credit: BBC / Simon Ridgway)Doctor Who - Smile had an overnight viewing audience of 4.25 million viewers, a share of 22.9% of the total TV audience, according to unofficial figures.

Top for the day was the ITV show Britain's Got Talent, with 9.21 million watching, a massive 44% of the total audience. The remainder of the evening was dominated by BBC One with All Round to Mrs Brown's getting 5.03 million. The FA Cup averaged around 5 million viewers pushing Doctor Who into fourth place for the day.

Official ratings data, included those who timeshift the episode, will be released in 8 days time.

The early morning signed repeat of The Pilot, shown on BBC Two at 4.10am, had an average audience of 129,000 viewers, a 13.9% share of the available audience.

The Pilot - Overnight Viewing Figures

The Pilot - The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) (Credit: BBC/Simon Ridgway)Doctor Who - The Pilot had an overnight viewing figure of 4.64 million viewers, a share of 24.8% of the total TV audience, according to unofficial viewing figures.

Saturday's top show was Britain's Got Talent on ITV which had 8.65 million watching.

Doctor Who was BBC One's second highest rated show for the evening, just behind All Round to Mrs Brown's which had 4.67 million. It just beat Pointless Celebrities which had 4.34 million watching. Casualty had 3.48 million.

Final figures, including those who timeshift, will be released next Monday, which should see Doctor Who substantially increase its audience.

Episode 5, Brave-ish Heart, which was broadcast at 10.46pm, had a confirmed audience of 0.69 million viewers, a 6.4% share of the total TV audience. The channel average for the timeslot is of 1.85 million. The figure is slightly higher than the initial overnight figure. The programme was beaten in the timeslot by BBC Two's Newsnight getting 0.74 million, however it outrated Through the Keyhole on ITV which had 0.56 million. An additional 0.21 million have accessed the episode on iPlayer since its release on BBC Three last October. The episode scored an AI of 78.

Episode 6, Detained, followed immediately afterward, starting at 11.33pm, and had a consolidated audience of 0.29 million watching, a share 4.4% of the audience. The channel average for the timeslot is 0.82 million. Episode 4 increased its audience by 40% over the initial figure. Around 195,000 have accessed the episode on iPlayer. The episode scored an AI of 79.
