Last of the Time Lords - Final Ratings

Official figures released by BARB show that the final episode of Season Three, Last of the Time Lords was watched by 8.61 million viewers, making it the 7th most watched programme on British television for the week.

The programme got higher ratings than three editions of EastEnders, one edition of Coronation Street and all editions of Emmerdale.

The Sunday repeat was the 3rd most watched programme on multi channel Television with 0.87 million viewers.

It was beaten by the Saturday edition of Doctor Who Confidential, which topped the multi channel charts with 1.02 million viewers, the highest rating the programme has ever achieved on this channel, narrowly beating the rating for last years season climax which had 1.01 million.

The Friday repeat of Episode Twelve, The Sound of Drums was 17th in the list with 0.62 million watching.

Final figures are much more accurate than the initial overnights and include those who recorded the programme and watch it within 7 days.

Friday Ratings, Schedule Update

The Friday BBC3 repeat of episode thirteen, Last of the Time Lords, achieved an overnight audience of 0.46 million viewers, making it the 4th most watched programme on multichannel television for the day. It had a share of 2.8%.

The entire Series Three gets another repeat showing on BBC3, starting with a chance to see Catherine Tate's debut in The Runaway Bride, which is being shown at 9pm on Monday 9th July.

Episode one, Smith and Jones, then follows at 7.50pm onFriday 13th July.

Doctor Who Confidential is also being repeated, sometimes the full forty-minute version rather than the cut-down one. The first showing is immediatlly after Smith and Jones.

Those who missed the 45-minute compilation of all the episodes of the Totally Doctor Who animated series, The Infinite Quest, can catch it again when it is repeated on the CBBC channel at 5pm on Sunday 8th July.

Finally fans of the original Doctor may want to catch Togas on TV on BBC Four next Wednesday 11th July at10.30pm. It looks at a variety of TV programmes that have featured togas, from I, Claudius, starring Derek Jacobi, to Doctor Who.

Sound of Drums Final Ratings

Figures published by BARB show that episode twelve, The Sound of Drums, was watched by 7.51 million viewers, making it the 11th most watched programme of the week.

The programme narrowly missed out on a top ten place by just 50,000 viewers. It was the 4th most watched on BBC One, beating an edition of EastEnders.

On multichannel, the Sunday repeat got 1.09 million watching, making the programme the second highest rated of the week.

Doctor Who Confidential got 0.96 million and was the 4th most watched multichannel programme of the week.

AI Figure, Sunday ratings

The final episode of Season Three of Doctor Who was once more one of the most enjoyed programmes on British Television, with Episode Thirteen,Last of the Timelords achieving an Appreciation Index of 88.

For a programme with such a high Audience to achieve such a high Appreciation index is incredibly rare.

The programme scored extremely high on all aspects with 85% making a special effort to watch and 90% watching with a lot of attention. 78% thought it was a high quality programme.

31% thought the programme was inspiring, way above the average score for drama of 16% and 60% said they would recommend it to a friend.

Meanwhile the Sunday BBC3 repeat was once more the most watched programme on Multichannel Television, with 0.76 million viewers, despite its earlier time slot. The share was 4.3% with Doctor Who Confidential being watched by0.46 million viewers.

Final figures are now available for the whole week and puts Doctor Who as the 7th most watched programme of the week, the highest position achieved since Gridlock. Saturday's Doctor Who got 1.7 million more viewers than Sunday's Coronation Street. Final figures will be released by BARB in about nine days time.

Last of the Time Lords - Overnight Rating

Doctor Who went out on a massive high with unofficial overnight figures showing that Episode Thirteen, Last of the Time Lordswas watched by 8.0 million viewers, a 39.1% share of the total television audience.

The programme was by far the most watched of the day, beating the second placed Casualty by nearly 1.5 million viewers.

The repeat of The Weakest Link: Dr Who Special was fifth with 4.5 million people watching.

ITV1's opposition, the feature film The Mummy averaged just 3 million viewers.

With just Sunday's ratings to come, Doctor Who is currently the 5th most watched programme of the week, virtually guaranteeing a top ten place when the final figures are compiled. It currently stands ahead of all episodes of Emmerdale, three episodes of EastEnders and one episode of Coronation Street.

The children's audience was 1.5 million which was a 55.6% share of the 4-15 year olds watching television.

On BBC3, Doctor Who Confidential was watched by 0.93 million making it the most watched programme on multichannel television with a 5.7% shareof the audience. This is the highest rating of the series and the second highest rating the programme has received on the channel.

Earlier in the day the showing of the compilation of the animated story Doctor Who - The Infinite Quest had 0.6 million viewers.

Friday Ratings

Doctor Who had a strong performance on Friday night with unofficial figures showing that 0.55 million watched the BBC3 repeat of Episode twelve,The Sound of Drums, a 3.3% share of the audience.

This was the highest rating the programme has received in this time slot and was enough to make the programme the second most watched multichannel programme for the day.

The earlier repeat of Episode Eleven, Utopia had 0.32 million viewers, a 2.1% share of the audience.

Doctor Who Confidential also did well with 0.33 million watching at 8.45pm and 0.43 million watching at 9.45pm, enough to make this showing the 8th most watched multichannel programme of the day.

Utopia - Final Ratings

Final official ratings released by BARB show that Episode Eleven,Utopia was watched by 7.84 million viewers.

It was the 4th most watched programme on BBC1 for the week and the 14th most watched on all UK Television. On Saturday night it was beaten by ITV1's Britain's Got Talent which dominated the top twenty.

On Multichannel Television, the Sunday repeat got 0.82 millionviewers and was the 4th most watched programme of the week.

Saturdays Doctor Who Confidential was eighth in the list with0.74 millionviewers, with the Sunday repeat getting 0.46 million and coming in at 32nd in the list.

Sound of Drums - AI Figure and Sunday Repeat

Episode 12, The Sound of Drums, achieved an Appreciation Index score of87, way ahead of any other programme on the five main channels on Saturday and the joint highest AI figure of the week.

The second highest placing on BBC1 was Jekyll which got 83 and on ITV1 the highest place went to Parkinson with 79. Of the remaining three channelsCSI:NY scored highest with 85.

The Appreciation Index, or AI, is a measure of how much the audience liked the programme. It is a score out of 100, based on responses from a carefully selected panel. The average score for drama on BBC1 and ITV1 is 77. A score in excess of 85 is regarded as excellent while a score below 60 is poor.

On BBC3 the Sunday repeat got an audience of 1.01 millionviewers, which was a5.2% share. The programme was once more the most watched multichannel programme of the day, beating The Simpsons on Sky One.

Also on BBC3, last Sundays repeat of Utopia scored an AI of 88 and SaurdaysDoctor Who Confidential scored 85.

With overnight ratings for Sunday now available, Doctor Who is the 11th most watched programme of the week. There is a slim possibility of a top ten place when official final figures are released by BARB in about nine days time.

Sound of Drums - Overnight Ratings

Unofficial overnight figures show that episode twelve, The Sound of Drums, was watched by 6.9 million viewers, a38.2% share of the total television audience.

The programme was back on top of the charts as the most watched propgramme of the day, both by audience and share, with over a million viewers more thanCasualty. It beat its direct opposition on ITV1, the premier of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, getting more than double the film's audience.

With just Sunday's ratings to come, Doctor Who is currently the 9th most watched programme of the week, holding out the possibility of a top ten final place.

The children's audience was 1.2 million which was a 49.7%share of the 4-15 year olds watching television.

On BBC3, Doctor Who Confidential was watched by 0.88 million making it the by far the most watched programme on multichannel television. The share was 5.7%.

Final official figures published by BARB give Episode 10, Blink a rating of6.62 million viewers.

The programme was the 7th most watched on BBC1 and the 16thmost watched programme on British television for the week.

On BBC3 the Sunday repeat had an official rating of 0.75 millionviewers. It was the second most viewed programme on the channel for the week, and the 6th on all multichannel television.

Saturday's Doctor Who Confidential got a rating of 0.69 million and was the 10th most watched programme of the week.
