The BBC are offering readers the chance answer questions alongside Matt Smith via their official Facebook page.

The new application in partnership with VYou will see the actor answer five questions over the next ten weeks, and is designed to enable fans to interact directly with the page in three different ways.

The principal function is the ability to record a personal video response to the question, which can then be shared with other fans who watch the video stream, appearing after Matt's original answer.

The initial question on the site is:

In future, fans themselves will be able to submit questions, and further interaction is providing in the form of a voting system in order to determine the favourite question - the ones with the most votes will then be answered by Matt himself.

The BBFC have now certified all the episodes of Torchwood: Miracle Day, which also confirms the running time for the episodes:

Torchwood: Miracle Day is due to be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on 14th November 2011.

Tonight sees the final episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day premiering in the United States, with The Blood Line being broadcast at 10:00pm ET on Starz; it will be repeated on the channel several times in the following week.

The broadcaster has released a preview to introduce the episode (for US residents only):



The episode airs in the United Kingdom next Thursday (15th September) at 9:00pm on BBC1/BBC1HD. The episode will also be repeated on BBC2/BBCHD the following Tuesday at 12:50am, and available to watch online in the UK via the BBC iPlayer until 23rd September.

Torchwood:The Gathering achieved an average audience of 3.5 million viewers on BBC One and BBC One HD, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The penultimate episode in the Torchwood series had 14.7% of the audience share and was the 10th most watched programme of the day, very similar to the previous week

The first half of the programme faced strong opposition from Coronation Street, which had 6.7 million watching. The second half faced the game show Red and Black which managed 3.9 million against Torchwood. Celebrity Big Brother, which out rated Torchwood for its launch show three weeks ago, was down to 3.0 million viewers for its live final.

Final ratings, which include those who record the programme and watch it within seven days,will be released next week.

The broadcast of the episode on Starz on 2nd September achieved a total of 1.024m over its premiere and repeat showings (10pm/11pm); this was a slight drop over the previous week's End of the Road at 1.172m.

The BBC have released details for Week 39, which includes the synopsis of penultimate episode of the current series of Doctor Who, Closing Time; this is due to be broadcast on BBC1/BBC1HD on Saturday 24th September. The episode is written by Gareth Roberts and directed by Steve Hughes.

The BBC have released three videos clips to introduce the next edition of Doctor Who Confidential, What Dreams May Come, which is due to be broadcast on Saturday 10th September on BBC3/BBCHD at 8:00pm, straight after The Girl Who Waited. It will be available to watch in the UK after broadcast via the BBC iPlayer until 8th October.

The British Science Fiction Association have issued an apology to Doctor Who show runner, Steven Moffat for an offensive tweet made by one of its committee members last Friday and sent to the writer.

At the time Moffat retweeted the comment asking Does everybody get this?

Although the tweet came from a personal account, the BSFA committee felt the individual concerned was seen as closely linked to the organisation. They wanted to make clear they did not endorse either the choice of wording or the sentiments expressed in the offending tweet.

A letter of apology has been sent to Moffat, who told the Association that he understood the circumstances and has taken no offence from the BSFA.

Steven Moffat joined twitter last year as part of the promotion for Sherlock. He now has over 150,000 followers.

Louise Jameson is to give a special performance of her one-woman show Pulling Faces in Australia next month.

The event is hosted by the Doctor Who Club of Australia as an epilogue to the Whovention 21 Celebration and takes place at the Bankstown Sports Club in Sydney on Wednesday 26th October. As well as the show itself, the actress will also attend a Q&A session, and an additional 'priority' package is available which enables ticket holders to attend an exclusive "meet and greet" with the actress and be able to receive her autograph after the event.
