2 entertain have confirmed in DWM the release date for the next three UK DVD releases

2entertain have announced on their offical Twitter feed that the two stories Kinda and Snakedance are to be released during 2011, in a boxed set entitled Mara Tales. The company have released a Next Time Trailer for the set, which also features a glimpse of new CGI for the Mara's manifestation as a snake.

The trailer will appear on a future, currently unspecified Doctor Who release.

Extras have been cleared by BBFC for the forthcoming release of the fourth Doctor story Revenge of the Cybermen.

The BBFC have cleared extras for the DVD release of the Second Doctor story The Dominators.

This 1968 five-part story has been expected ever since an official promo for the story was leaked to YouTube at the end of last year. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Doctor along with Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe.

The story is set on the planet Dulkis, under threat from two alien Dominators, Rago and his subordinate Toba, who have landed in a spaceship. It features the robot Quarks.

Guest stars include Ronald Allen, who was well known at the time for his starring role in the soap opera Compact and later for his role in Crossroads and Brian Cant who was a staple of Children's television in the sixties and seventies, well known for his work on Play School and Play Away and for his narration on the popular Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green puppet series.

No release date for the story has been confirmed but it is likely to be released in July or August.

The British Board of Film Classification has cleared a trailer for a forthcoming double DVD release of Revenge of the Cybermen and Silver Nemesis.

Revenge of the Cybermen is a fourth Doctor story first shown in 1975. As well as Tom Baker it stars Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Ian Marter as Harry Sullivan. Written by Gerry Davis, the co-creator of the Cybermen, and Robert Holmes, the story is set on Nerva Beacon and on Voga the fabled planet of gold. It was the first story for the Cybermen since they appeared in the 1968 second Doctor story The Invasion and their last until Earthshock in 1982. Other cast members include Ronald Leigh-Hunt, Christopher Robbie, Jeremy Wilkin, William Marlowe, Michael Wisher, Kevin Stoney and David Collings. This story was the first Doctor Who story to be released on VHS in October 1983 with a retail price of £39.99.

Silver Nemesis was a seventh Doctor story, first shown in 1988. Alongside Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor, the story starred Sophie Aldred as Ace. Written by Kevin Clarke the story was part of the 25th year celebrations for the series. Other cast members included David Banks, Mark Hardy, Anton Diffring, Courtney Pine, Fiona Walker and a special appearance from film star Dolores Gray. In 1993 an extended version of this three-part serial was released on VHS. It is understood that this special edition will not be included on the DVD release, nor, due to rights issues, will the accompanying VHS documentary.

There is no date announced for this release, but the classification of the trailer indicates the stories are likely to be available in July.

An alternative version of Planet of Fire will  be presented on a second disc, a new version cut by director Fiona Cumming, containing previously unseen material and special effects. It will be in a 16:9 format and the audio will be in 5:1 surround sound.

The box set is released in the UK on 14th June.

The online retailer Play.com is giving its customers as chance to meet the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker plus an overnight stay in London and £100 pounds towards travel. The competition is only open to those aged 18 or over and residing in the UK.

The meeting with Baker will take place just before he records the DVD commentary for the season 13 story The Seeds of Doom, which will be released in the UK in 2011.

The three stories comprising the Myths and Legends Box set will be released in North America on July 6, 2010.

Unlike the UK release the stories will be issued as individual titles. The three releases are the Third Doctor story The Time Monster, and the two Fourth Doctor stories Underworld and  Horns of Nimon.

The First Doctor Box set comprising The Space Museum and The Chase will also be released on 6th July.

It has been revealed that the short clip of The Beatles, featured in episode one of The Chase, will only be included on the Region 2 DVD's and will be removed from the masters of the discs produced for regions outside Europe.

The short clip of the group playing Ticket to Ride, was taken from the BBC's Top of the Pops programme, and features as part of the sequence where the TARDIS crew look at various events from history on the Time-Space Visualiser.

The music is covered by a blanket agreement for use in the UK but this does not apply to the rest of the world. It may have been possible for the same masters to have been used for the international copies, as there is nothing in the BBC paperwork to indicate that the clip of the Beatles exists in the story. However the distributors have received so many queries about the inclusion of the clip that it became impossible to ignore its presence, so it has been removed from the edit.

In other DVD news, online retailers in the States are reporting the Region 1 DVD release of the animated story Dreamland has been pushed back to October.

BBC Worldwide have announced that they now fully own DVD distributor 2|entertain, the company closely associated with the release of Doctor Who DVDs over the last six years. The fate of the company has been uncertain since BBC Worldwide's partner Woolworth went into administration back in 2008.
