4.55 million viewers watched Flatline, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Doctor Who was fourth for the day, slipping behind Pointless Celebrities which managed 4.94 million viewers at the earlier time of 5.45pm.

Top for the day was Strictly Come Dancing with 9.03 million, while on ITV The X Factor had 7.71 million viewers.

Doctor Who had a share of 19.9% of the total television audience.

Doctor Who Kill the Moon was the twentieth most watched programme for the week on British Television, according to figures provided by Barb, maintaining the run of top twenty places for the programme.

The Great British Bake off took top position with 10.67 million viewers, ahead of the Drama Downton Abbey which had 10.15 million watching, once ITV HD and ITV+1 figures are added in. The docu-drama on the life of Cilla Black had 8.21 million watching. The X Factor also did well with all three editions rating higher than Doctor Who. The top soaps, Coronation Street, EastEnders and episodes of Emmerdale all entered the top twenty.

Doctor Who Mummy On The Orient Express had an Audience Appreciation Index or AI score of 85, the highest score since The Day of The Doctor.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

Overall Doctor Who rated slightly higher with women than with men and scored the highest within the 16-34 age group. 48% of the sample thought the programme felt 'Fresh and New'.

The X Factor Results topped the ratings for Sunday with 8.79 million viewers, while Strictly Come Dancing and Downton Abbey took 2nd and 3rd place. Doctor Who is currently in 23rd place for the week. Final figures will be published next week.

The Sunday repeat of Mummy On The Orient Express on BBC Three had an overnight estimate of 0.20 million viewers, a 0.8% share of the audience.

5.08 million viewers watched Doctor Who: Mummy On The Orient Express, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Doctor Who, which had a share of 22.1% of the audience, was the third most watched programme of the day. Top of the chart was Strictly Come Dancing which had 8.65 million viewers. Over on ITV The X Factor was top with 7.55 million watching.

The episode of Doctor Who was broadcast at 8.37pm making it the latest showing for the series in its entire history.

Doctor Who is currently 19th for the week. Final figures should be available next Sunday.

Doctor Who The Caretaker was the twentieth most watched programme for the week on British Television, according to figures provided by Barb.

The episode was the 7th most watched programme on BBC Television for the week, with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing taking top position.

Overall Downton Abbey was the highest rated programme of the week with 10.46 million watching, once ITV HD and ITV+1 figures are added in. The X Factor also did well with all three editions rating higher than Doctor Who. The top soaps, Coronation Street, EastEnders and episodes of Emmerdale all entered the top twenty.
