Davison's Rigor Mortis

Friday, 12 November 2004 - Reported by Shaun Lyon
Peter Davison stars in the first of six episodes of the radio sitcom "Rigor Mortis," which aired last night at 11pm on BBC Radio 4 and airs every subsequent Thursday, with rebroacast over the web on the BBC Radio4 Online website. "Davison is Dr Anthony Webster, chief pathologist and a man who loves his job so much he can't understand why people get upset when he takes his work to lunch with him. His colleague Dr Ruth Hamilton (Matilda Ziegler) was lured into the job by watching TV murder mysteries and is constantly disappointed by the banality of the work. Their boss tries to make the mortuary a brighter place - 'after all, a corpse is a person' - and the team also includes a sometimes inebriated lab assistant, a down-to-earth receptionist and a policeman who is prone to fainting." Davison and Big Finish

Tuesday, 4 May 2004 - Reported by Shaun Lyon
Putting to rest rumors that have begun circulating (we believe from speculation over the three-CD release of "Game Time" early next year) that Peter Davison will soon be calling it quits on the Big Finish audio line, producer John Ainsworth (who's behind Big Finish's "Unbound" series) told members of the Outpost Gallifrey forum today, "I asked Gary Russell about this yesterday and he confirmed that he certainly has been given no indication by Peter that he wants to give up the Who audios. Gary was quite baffled as to how the rumour got started." Ainsworth also commented about the CD triple-size: "The only reason that there will be a triple-CD Davison release next year is that the writer proposed a six-part story which Gary liked and thought was worth doing as a special release." So no worries as Davison continues into the foreseeable future. (Thanks to John Ainsworth)

davison on hardware

Thursday, 15 April 2004 - Reported by Shaun Lyon
Peter Davison made a guest appearance as himself on the Simon Nye-scripted sitcom "Hardware" which aired last Sunday on ITV. Various jokes were made throughout the episode that referenced Doctor Who. Once again, perhaps indicating that the show is very much back in the public consciousness; the program also finished on a discussion as to what tool would they take into space on board the TARDIS, and a rivet gun and an folding workbench were amongst the suggestions.
