This weekend's adventure for the Doctor and Clara will be Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS, written by Steve Thompson and directed by Mat King. The episode will premiere on BBC One in the United Kingdom on Saturday at the earlier time of 6:30pm.

Credit: BBCA spaceship salvage team drags the TARDIS on board, sending its systems into meltdown.

As the Doctor marshals the motley salvage crew outside, he realises Clara is still trapped within his malfunctioning ship, pursued by a dangerous group of ossified monsters. He has just 30 minutes to find Clara and save his TARDIS before it self-destructs.

Continuing last week's line-up, The National Lottery: Who Dares Wins! follows Doctor Who at 7:15pm, with ITV again broadcasting You've Been Framed! Favourites from 6:00pm and Britain's Got Talent from 7:00pm. Similarly, BBC Two remains the same with Flog It! at 6:30pm and World Snooker at 7:00pm, and Channel 4 finishes Come Dine with Me at 6:40pm, with the News then followed at 7:00pm by Sarah Beeny's Selling Houses. This week's film offering from Channel 5 is The Caine Mutiny.


Internationally, Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS will be broadcast in the United States and Canada on BBC America and SPACE respectively at 8:00pm ET the same evening, and then on Sunday it can be watched in Australia via ABC at 7:30pm, Poland via BBC Entertainment at 6:00pm, and South Africa via BBC Entertainment at 7:00pm. Meanwhile, New Zealand viewers will see Cold War this Thursday on PRIME at 7:30pm.

Final Australian ratings for Cold War

Cold War has picked up an additional 114,000 time-shifted Australian viewers, giving it a final, or consolidated, ratings average of 842,000 viewers in the five major capital cities.  This was the fourth largest number of time-shifted viewers for a program broadcast on Sunday 14 April. The final or consolidated ratings includes all 'time-shifted' viewers who record the program and watch it within a week.

Based on these final figures, Cold War was the top-rating ABC program of the day and the ninth highest rating program of the day overall (this compares to it being the tenth highest rating program based on its overnight figures of 728,000 viewers). These ratings do not include regional viewers.

Hide AI: 85

Hide had an Appreciation Index, or AI score, of 85.

The Appreciation Index or AI is a measure of how much the audience enjoyed the programme. The score, out of a hundred, is compiled by a specially selected panel of around 5,000 people who go online and rate and comment on programmes.

Doctor Who scored higher than most of Saturday's output. The highest scoring programmes of the day were Casualty with 87, Walking Through History with 87 and The Many Faces of Michael Crawford with 87.

Australian overnight ratings for Hide

Hide has debuted in Australia, averaging 648,000 viewers in the five major capital cities. It was the ABC's top-rating drama of the day and the tenth highest rating program of the day overall. These ratings do not include regional or time-shifted viewers.

Hide: Overnight Audience 5.0 Million

Hide had an overnight audience of 5.0 million viewers, a share of 24.5% of the total TV audience.

Doctor Who was fourth for the day. Its final half hour was opposite Britain's Got Talent on ITV, which was top for the day with 9.7 million watching and 43.9% share of the audience.

The BBC's talent show, The Voice, had 7.9 million watching - a large increase on the previous week. Casualty was third with 5.2 million viewers.

Final ratings will be released next week, which should see Doctor Who substantially increase its rating once those who timeshift the programme are factored in.

The BBC have released a behind-the-scenes confidentialette on the making of tonight's episode, Hide, cast and crew interviews undertaken during the filming of the episode, and also featuring Steven Moffat. There is also a an introduction to the episode by Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, and some preview clips for those who haven't seen the episode itself yet(!).

Pyramids of Mars and The Hand of Fear on UKTV

UKTVSunday 21st April sees the broadcast of two four-part Tom Baker stories, Pyramids of Mars (1975) and The Hand of Fear (1976), on Australian and New Zealand television. The two stories, screened back-to-back, are the 15th and 16th instalments in the 50th Anniversary season of Doctor Who stories on the UKTV channel.

The stories are scheduled in New Zealand at 2:15pm and 4:00pm, and in Australia at 2:30pm and 4:30pm respectively. New Zealand has additional screenings on Monday 22nd April at 2:20am and 4:05am.



The two stories were both first broadcast in Australia in 1978. New Zealand also saw Pyramids of Mars in 1978, but The Hand of Fear first screened in 1979.

The UKTV billing describes the stories as follows:
Pyramids of Mars
The Doctor & Sarah are returning to UNIT HQ on earth when the TARDIS is caught up by a mysterious force. Sarah sees an evil face materialise which terrifies her.

The Hand of Fear
The Doctor & Sarah are caught in a mining explosion. Sarah is found clutching a fossilised hand, when she begins to act possessed, the Doctor suspects that it may be alive.
UKTV is showing stories throughout the year in the lead-up to the anniversary in November. Pyramids of Mars and The Hand of Fear are the third and fourth in a set of six stories featuring Tom Baker's Doctor broadcast during April.

The schedule of upcoming stories includes: The Robots of Death and City of Death (28th April), Kinda (5 May), Earthshock and Snakedance (12 May), Frontios and Resurrection of the Daleks (19 May), The Caves of Androzani (26 May).

The Rings of Akhaten: Ratings Chart

Full ratings data for the week ending 7th April 2013 is now available and puts Doctor Who: The Rings of Akhaten as the sixteenth most watched programme in the UK for the week.

The episode achieved 7.45 million viewers had 34.8% share of the available Television audience.

On BBC One, Doctor Who was the sixth most watched programme of the week, behind EastEnders and Jonathan Creek.

On ITV five episodes of Coronation Street took the top five places with Broadchurch and Ant and Dec's Saturday Takeaway getting into the top ten.

Series Finale Episode Title Revealed

The title for the concluding episode of Series 7 has been revealed this morning with the release of accompanying movie posters in both landscape and portrait formats.

Written by Steven Moffat and directed by Saul Metzstein, the story is called The Name of the Doctor, with the posters also carrying the teaser line "His Secret Revealed" and confirming that Alex Kingston will be guest-starring in the story.

The episode is scheduled to air on BBC One on Saturday 18th May at a time yet to be confirmed.


Posters for the preceding three episodes were revealed yesterday.
