Titan Comics have announced this year's global Doctor Who Comics Day event will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2016.

Doctor Who Comics Day is a global event inspired by Titan Comics’ Doctor Who comic books. In its third year, the event is set to be even bigger with new comics and collections, signings and events across the globe.

2015’s event tied-in with a special, brand-new, five-part weekly Doctor Who comics cross-over series by Paul Cornell and Neil Edwards, and saw comic readers get the chance to celebrate Doctor Who Comics Day at over 2900 locations including comic shops, bookstores, retail chains and libraries.

Wednesday sees the publication of the omnibus edition of the Doctor Who Comic Strip Prisoners of Time.

Prisoners of Time was originally a 12-issue comic book series, produced by IDW to mark Doctor Who's 50th anniversary.

The 12 issues were released monthly during 2013, each issue featuring a different Doctor, leading to the final, multi-Doctor issue in December.

Titan Comics have announced a series of variant covers for three of their ongoing Doctor Who comics. The variants are drawn by Japanese artist Question No. 6. She has previously worked on Doctor Who comics at a fan level, being involved with a webcomic adaptation of AM Audio Media’s award winning Doctor Who Dark Journey audio play.

The comics featuring Question no. 6’s art will be available early next year. The Tenth Doctor Adventures Year Two #2.6 and The Twelfth Doctor Adventures Year Two #2.2 will be available January 13th, 2016 with The Eleventh Doctor Adventures Year Two #2.6 hitting shelves on February 3rd, 2016.

Wednesday sees the publication of The Tenth Doctor Vol. 3: The Fountains of Forever, written by Nick Abadzis with art from Elena Casagrande, Eleonora Carlini, Rachael Stott and Leonardo Romero.

Titan Comics and BBC Worldwide have announced the ongoing Ninth Doctor comic series will continue.

 Titan Comics’ launched the Ninth Doctor in a 5-part mini-series in 2015. Due to the popularity of the Ninth Doctor, as played by Christopher Eccleston, the series will now join the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as a monthly ongoing title.
